This hummingbird is handmade by indigenous Guatemalan artisans from the rural village of Chukmuk near Lake Atitlan. They are made with only beads and thread, with recycled plastic bags as filler. All hummingbirds are made with first-class Czech beads.
Unlike weaving, which has been practiced in Guatemala since pre-Columbian times, beadwork is a relatively new craft in Guatemala.
